Comprehensive Insurance Coverage for Your Protection

We know that your home is your sanctuary, and protecting it from damage or accidents is essential. That's why Home Sweet Homeshare includes a comprehensive insurance package designed to give you peace of mind.

Our service fee includes the following insurance coverage:

$1 Million "Slip and Fall" Insurance

With $1 million Workman's Compensation Insurance policy to protect the homeowner should the houseguest injure themselves while performing the household chores, you can rest easy knowing that you're protected against any potential accidents.

$10,000 Personal Property Insurance

Should the unthinkable happen, and the houseguest's stuff is stolen or damaged, we payout $10,000 to pay for clothes and furniture.

$3,000 Loss of Use Insurance

We hope this never happens, but if your place is unlivable due to an event such as a burst water pipe, we’ll put you up in a hotel for a week, up to $3,000 per occurrence.

$1,500 Personal Electronics Insurance

In addition to Personal Property Insurance, we also cover Personal Electronics should they get stolen or damaged. This would cover phones, tablets, computers, and headphones.
Ongoing Support and Regular Check-Ins

At Home Sweet Homeshare, we believe that our responsibility extends far beyond the initial match. We're committed to providing ongoing support to ensure that your homesharing experience remains positive and fulfilling.

Our dedicated Match Makers will check in with you bi-weekly for the first two months and monthly thereafter, making sure that your co-housing arrangement is working smoothly.

These regular check-ins provide a safe, private space for you to share any feedback or concerns you may have. We're here to listen, offer guidance, and take action if necessary to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for both you and your housemate.

A: In the rare case of a dispute or issue, our dedicated support team is here to help. We offer mediation services and will work with both parties to find a fair resolution. If necessary, we will also assist in the safe and smooth transition of the housemate to a new living arrangement.
Q: How comprehensive are your background checks for potential housemates?
A: Our background checks are extensive and thorough. We conduct criminal background checks at the county, state, and national levels, verify employment and education history, review driving records, and perform additional trust and safety screenings to ensure the utmost safety for our homeowners.

A: We take the hassle out of rent collection by handling it on your behalf. Our secure payment system automatically collects rent from your housemate via credit card or direct withdrawal and deposits it directly into your bank account. You'll never have to chase down payments or worry about late rent again.
Q: What happens if my housemate causes damage to my property?
A: In the unlikely event that your housemate causes damage to your home, Home Sweet Homeshare's Damage Insurance Per Match has you covered. With $50,000 in dwelling coverage, you can rest assured that repairs will be taken care of promptly and professionally, without any added stress or financial burden on your part.
Q: How does Home Sweet Homeshare ensure that my housemate can afford the rent?
A: As part of our comprehensive screening process, we verify each potential housemate's income and employment status to ensure they have the financial means to afford the agreed-upon rent. This extra layer of security helps prevent any issues with late or missed payments, giving you peace of mind and a stable rental income. We have a minimum income requirement of earning a minimum of $30,000 per year annually for all houseguests.
